Music

In Futurum

In futurum is the hymn of The Delta Phi, it is known by every brother and is sung at every significant gathering of Delta Phi.

My brothers, when I'm no more with you
But struggling with life's weary tide

My thoughts and love I still shall give you
Thy cross shall ever be my guide.

The emblems on its arms engraven
The scroll, the blazing lamp on high
The clasp-ed hands and stars of heaven
Shall keep me true to Delta Phi.

And when my life of toil is over
And to the earth my clay they bear
My hands in mystic clasp shall cover
The flashing jewel that I wear.

But let us banish all such sadness
And though the midnight hour is nigh
Come fill the bumper now in gladness
And drink long life to Delta Phi

On The Banks

On The Banks of the Old Raritan is the alma mater of Rutgers University. While strictly unrelated to the Delta Phi fraternity, our chapter makes a special effort to teach this song to our new members.

My father sent me to old Rutgers,
And resolv'd that I should be a man;
And so I settled down,
In that noisy college town,
On the banks of the old Raritan.

(Chorus)

On the banks of the old Raritan (my friends)
Where old Rutgers evermore shall stand,
For has she not stood
Since the time of the flood,
On the banks of the old Raritan.

Then sing aloud to Alma Mater
And keep the scarlet in the van'
For with her motto high
Rutgers' name shall never die
On the banks of the old Raritan.

(Chorus)

On the banks of the old Raritan (my friends)
Where old Rutgers evermore shall stand,
For has she not stood
Since the time of the flood,
On the banks of the old Raritan.
